FEMA PRESS RELEASE.FEMA,NIMASA Donate Learning Equipment To JSS,Area 11.

The FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA),and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency,(NIMASA) have donated learning equipment to the Junior Secondary School,Area 11, Garki.

Commending NIMASA, the Ag. Director General of FEMA, Mr Mohammed Ibrahim Sabo said the gesture depicts the UN’s goal of reducing inequality in the society by empowering the marginalized and vulnerable.
According to Sabo, empowerment enables people to absorb the shock during a disaster and to recover from the effects of the disaster.
He informed that NIMASA through its corporate social responsibility has continued to impact positively on schools and hospitals in the FCT.

In a remark, the Director General of NIMASA, Dr Bashir Jamo said the gesture was part of the corporate social responsibility of the Agency.
Represented by the Director Special Duties, Mr Isichei Osamgbi,Dr Jamo said ;
“It is our belief that if every responsible corporate organization keeps doing their bit,the sky will be the limit. Government alone cannot do it. We believe that our children should be given the best opportunity to excel.To train of a child is a collective responsibility”.
According to the NIMASA boss , what we are doing is giving back to the society.
In a response, the Principal of JSS, Area 11, Mrs Gold Fatima Iyabo appreciated the assistance to the school at this time of need.
“If other agencies are doing this, the school will have computers. This is the starting point for us”.
Also speaking, the Head girl of the school, Anyanwu Chinwedu Sylvia, who appreciated, NIMASA for the kind gesture, said it would enhance learning in the school.
Learning equipment donated to the school includes a computer, UPS, printer, notebooks, school bags, stockings, water cans, and writing materials.
